Twin City Cyclones

The Twin City Cyclones is a minor league ice hockey team based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Began play in the Southern Professional Hockey League (SPHL) in the 2005-2006 season. In the 05-06 season finished 6th out of 7 teams in regular season standings and made the playoffs, but lost in the first round to Knoxville Ice Bears.
In 6-7 seasons, final in Florence, finished in seven place and missed to make the playoffs.
TCC were called the "Pee Dee Cyclones" as the region of South Carolina near Florence that is typically named after the Pee Dee River. Unable to reach a new lease agreement with the Florence Civic Center, the Cyclones relocated Winston-Salem for the 2007 and 2008 seasons. Two seasons afterwards, on March 31, 2009, the Cyclones ceased operations, citing the American economic downturn as a reason for their folding.
Noone brings out the tenderness of a hockey like a jersey. The Southern Professional Hockey League Columbus Cottonmouths and Twin City Cyclones put theory to the test during the Cyclones "Ladies Night/Pink in the Rink," an event that supports Susan Komen - Triad Affliate/cancer awareness.
